“The seals are broken. If it escapes, the imbalance will rip your world apart. That is why I have brought you here. Please, you must fix the seals!”

You have been transported to a reflection of your world, a realm of fear, a prison. You see a twisted version of your classroom, filled with shadows and bizarre objects. As you try to acclimatise to the bizarre surroundings, you hear a voice in your head.

“You have to help us, but you don’t have long. That seal is broken!”

Overview

Dread Rising is a VR game in which you must solve a series of block puzzles while a terrible entity struggles against it’s bonds, trying to break free.

As you attempt to fix the seals it will try to stop you, using it’s power to control the environment.

You must solve the puzzles and fix the seals quickly, otherwise your soul will be forever trapped in that realm, doomed to watch with the other unfortunate spirits

How to Play

Each puzzle is a group of pieces that you must assemble. On the pieces are various glowing runes.

You must pick up the pieces and look for the 2 matching runes and connect them to each other, forming a bond between the blocks.

As you connect the blocks, new runes will appear. Paying attention to these will help you make the connections quicker and finish all the puzzles before time runs out!

Once you finish a puzzle, a Keyblock will appear. Find where to place all of the Keyblocks to complete the game!

This project was created as part of a second year university brief at the University of South Wales, in association with Tiny Rebel Games. The module brief was "These are our fears". Teams had to make games that were 8 to 10 minutes long, taking place in a small environment that students frequently use, the theme of the game was student fears.
